Awards and Scholarships

The Tallahassee Society of Association Executives annually recognizes individuals and associations who have made contributions to TSAE, local communities, and the Association Management Field. A list of past winners is posted below.

ASSOCIATION PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
The Association Professional of the Year Award recognizes a regular member of TSAE who has provided extraordinary leadership and made significant contributions in the profession of association management, as well as contributions as a volunteer in the non-profit community.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER OF THE YEAR
The Associate Member of the Year Award recognizes a TSAE Associate member who has made significant contributions and leadership to their profession related to working with associations, as well as contributions made as a volunteer in the non-profit community.

ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR
The Association of the Year Award recognizes an association that has demonstrated outstanding efforts, excellence and innovation related to its on-going or special programs/services, which benefit their industry or profession, or the public at large. The award is not based on the activities of any individual or group of association staff members.

SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR
The Supporting Organization of the Year Award recognizes an Organization with at least one TSAE associate member that has demonstrated outstanding efforts, excellence and innovation related to its ongoing or special programs/services which benefit their industry or profession, or the association industry.  The award is not based on the activities of any individual or group of employees.

ETHEL Z. GILMAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Ethel Z. Gilman Scholarship is awarded annually to an individual who desires to attend the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institutes for Organization Management Program, joined the ranks of association management within the last six years and has excelled in their work. The award is in the amount of $1,000 and must be used within one year of its award. Repayment of the scholarship is required if the recipient leaves the association management field within one year of receiving the award.

TSAE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP
The TSAE Scholarship is awarded from the “Small Change” that has been collected throughout the year at TSAE Luncheons. The scholarship may be used for the US Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management Program, an ASAE Annual Meeting, the FSAE Annual Conference, other professional development programs or to cover expenses related to the CAE or CMP designation. The award is in the amount of $1,000 and must be used within one year of its award. Repayment of the scholarship is required if the recipient leaves the association management field within one year of receiving the award.

CMP SCHOLARSHIP
This TSAE Scholarship is awarded from the funds collected at the monthly Meeting Planners’ Roundtable meetings. The scholarship must be used to cover expenses related to achieving the CMP designation. The award amount is up to $1,000.

PAL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP
This TSAE Scholarship is awarded from funds collected from graduates of the Professional Association Leadership (PAL) Program. The scholarship must be used to participate in a Professional Association Leadership (PAL) Program. The award amount is up to $275.00. The recipient must graduate from the 2009-2010 PAL class that will begin in August 2000 and conclude in January 2010. If the recipient does not graduate from the 2009-2010 PAL class, the scholarship must be repaid to TSAE by the recipient.
